He relocated to Australia in 2010 after holding senior roles across multiple global markets, and has since worked at the intersection of strategy, institutional development, and international education. He joined UOW as Project Director – Campus Commissioning (India), where he played a pivotal role as the only person on ground in establishing the GIFT City campus and building cross-border partnerships within UOW’s global network.

Nimay played a central role in the establishment of UOW India, serving as Project Director – Campus Commissioning, where he led the end-to-end setup of the international branch campus at GIFT City. As the primary representative on the ground during commissioning, he managed complex stakeholder environments, regulatory engagement, cross-border coordination, and the transition from establishment to full operational readiness.

Prior to joining UOW, Nimay held senior academic and international leadership roles at The University of Newcastle, where he led South Asia partnership development for the Faculty of Business and Law. He has also taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Strategy, Change Management, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, consistently integrating industry practice with academic delivery.

As Campus Director, Nimay is focused on academic excellence, industry-aligned education, and graduate employability. He has led the development of partnerships across multinational corporations, public sector organisations, SMEs, and start-ups, enabling real-world learning, internships, applied research, and career pathways for students. These collaborations extend to organisations such as IBM ICE India, alongside government and institutional stakeholders, strengthening UOW India’s position within the regional and national innovation ecosystem.
