Mark Coure has been the Member for Oatley since 2011. Mark lives in Penshurst with his wife Adla, a school teacher and their two sons, James and Sam.

Before being the Member for Oatley, Mark ran his own successful small business and served on Kogarah City Council for eight years.

Throughout his time as a Member of the NSW Parliament, Mark has served in a number of roles including as Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure, and Assistant Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

With the appointment of the Hon. Dominic Perrottet MP as Premier of NSW in December of 2021, Mark was elevated to Cabinet as Minister for Multiculturalism and Minister for Seniors. During his time as Minister, Mark was a strong advocate for our multicultural communities and presided over record funding increases to support multicultural and multifaith communities.

Mark now has the honour of serving as Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, Shadow Minister for Jobs, Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology and Shadow Minister for South-Western Sydney under the leadership of NSW Opposition Leader, the Hon. Mark Speakman SC MP.

Within his current portfolios he is passionate about supporting and promoting multiculturalism in NSW through consistent engagement with our many diverse community organisations, faith leaders, multicultural media and community language schools. He is also a strong advocate for manufacturing and innovation in NSW with particular focuses on the defence, space, cyber, medical research and start-up sectors.
