Professor Louise Hickman is a distinguished academic leader and a driving force in the field of education and health. Currently serving as the Pro Vice Chancellor (Health) at the University of Wollongong, she holds a pivotal role within the institution’s leadership team. Professor Hickman fosters partnerships with industry and government with a strong focus on the growing South Western Sydney region, enhancing community engagement and advancing innovative opportunities that bridge education and research. Professor Hickman is instrumental to increasing educational pathways and opportunities to attain a world-class university education in South Western and Southern Sydney.

As part of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct (LIP) Steering committee and Chair of the LIP Education Sub Committee, she collaborates with world-class education, research, and healthcare organisations to address real-world challenges and promote societal transformation through collaboration. Professor Hickman has an in-depth knowledge of research and the health care industry, combined with a significant understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and the drivers of learning. This extensive skill base enables her to co design and better address the needs of communities and organisations.

Professor Hickman is passionate about the potential for positive impact in her role as a university leader. Her focus is on driving innovative research, preparing students for future job markets and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
